Twelve, sixteen, twenty-plus need deck to sit, a working head, and crew who can run a swim stop without a scrum. Catamarans and bigger flybridges earn their keep here. We would rather two boats than one miserable licence-max.
Formentera is possible; it is not automatic. A west-coast loop is often kinder to a big list. If grandparents and a stag share the day, say so — shade vs music is a real split.
